Some of us may not even remember it anymore, but it used to be winters.....

Heroic crews of railroad icebreakers - rail plows - would then take to the tracks that suffered from snowdrifts, usually mountain and foothill locomotives. These plowed their way through snowdrifts even several meters high. The only place ploughing was forbidden - road crossings. Here there was a risk of damage by the plough's ploughshare. Because it is difficult to know in snow drifts exactly where such crossings are, they are equipped on both sides with signals "Stop plough work" and "Start plough work".
