2 x 1W / 8 Ohm speaker for the T678 series (H0 Orange, MTB)

This dual speaker, including the speaker enclosure, is designed for installation in the H0-scale T678 locomotive model (manufactured by MTB).

The default serial connection provides good sound reproduction for the model, including low frequencies.

Installation in the model can be done, for example, by gluing with B7000 adhesive or a similar method. Before installation, it is advisable to place a thin support—such as a scrap of Evergreen or an old PCB with a thickness of approximately 0.5 mm—between the gearbox and the flat PCB conductor in the space designated for the speaker, in order to prevent tight contact between the cardan shaft driver and this flat conductor.

For wiring, solder the wires to the outer solder terminals of the speakers and to the corresponding solder pads in the model. 

The wiring can be modified to a series configuration as shown in the product description. In this case, the decoder used must support a 4-ohm speaker connection—for example, the ZIMO MS450 or MX645 series. This wiring is not suitable for MS480, MX648, and other decoders and may damage the audio output. 

For demanding modelers, we install two blocks in the models, one on each side, and connect them in parallel (with the default series connection of the speakers within a single block). This improves sound reproduction quality and volume, allowing for loud sound without overloading the installed speakers.
